European Conference on Literary Translation

Ten ENLIT members were represented at this landmark event organised by CEATL (European network of literary translators’ associations) and held in the European Parliament in Strasbourg on 2-4 October. Alexandra Büchler (Literature Across Frontiers) introduced ENLIT in a panel session on networks, while Sinéad MacAodha (Literature Ireland) moderated a session on translation data and statistics with Julià Florit (Institut Ramon Llull) and Martin Krafl (CzechLit) speaking. Julià Florit’s contribution presenting aggregated ENLIT members’ support for translation across Europe will be made available later with more complete data. Camilla Pargentino (Dutch Foundation for Literature) spoke in a workshop on translation subsidies. The conference was attended by more than 300 participants and viewed online by over 1500.

Frankfurt Book Fair

ENLIT member organisations participate in this key book world event on 16-20 October with national stands and in the annual network meeting hosted by the fair. A list of professional events organised by ENLIT network members can be downloaded here.

ENLIT network’s spring meeting takes place at the Thessaloniki Book Fair, hosted by the Hellenic Foundation for Culture.

ENLIT network presents itself at the Literary Translation Centre at the London Book Fair.

October 2023

The network meets at the Frankfurt Book Fair and a panel debate is held at the Aldus Stage. 

December 2023

ENLit presents itself and its activities in two sessions at the Guadalajara Book Fair in December 2023.

June 2023

Lithuanian Culture Institute hosts the meeting of ENLit in June on the occasion of the city’s 700 anniversary celebrations. The members discuss plans for the Guadalajara Book Fair and continue debates in working groups.

ENLit’s autumn meeting takes place at the Frankfurt Book Fair. 

May 2022

ENLit spring meeting is held in Barcelona hosted by Institut Ramon Llull. The two-day meeting includes working groups discussing topics such as translation grants, book fairs, festivals and fellowships.

The Frankfurt Book Fair opens its doors again after the Covid-19 pandemic lockdowns and ENLit resumes in-person meetings.
